If you’ve ever wanted a piece of animal art that’s truly one-of-a-kind, a pet portrait commission might be just what you need.
Whether it’s a beloved dog, cat, or any other furry friend, a custom painting is a chance to capture their personality, charm, and all those little quirks that make your pet so special to you. I get asked all the time how to order, so I thought I’d walk you through the process.
Step 1: Join the Waiting List for Your Pet Portrait
I create a limited number of dog paintings and pet portraits each year, so spaces fill up fast. The first step is to join my waiting list. Once you’re on it, I’ll send out an exclusive link so you can book your slot. This then guarantees early access to secure your commission.
Step 2: Book Your Slot
Using the exclusive link to confirm your booking. Once your slot is secured, you are then officially on your way to owning a unique piece of wall art that celebrates your amazing pet.
Step 3: Choose Your Pet Portrait Size
I offer two main sizes for my commissions and they are:
60cm – This is my most popular option. This size is perfect for capturing all the subject’s details while also giving plenty of space for splashes, colour, and pattern. It’s painted on a specially prepared board and makes a beautiful statement without taking over your room.
100cm “The Biggie” – This option is for those who are after a real showstopper, the 1-metre square format allows for ultra-detailing and bold, dramatic splashes. This size brings your pet to life in a larger-than-life pet portrait kinda way and is perfect if you want a striking piece of animal art on your wall.
Step 4: Send Your Photo
Once your booking is secured, you will then be asked to send me a photo of your pet. High-quality photos help me capture all the little details - fur texture, eye colour, and those tiny quirks that make your dog unique. This is where your dog portrait or pet portrait really begins to take shape.
Step 5: Pet Portrait Painting Process
When I start your pet portrait commission, the turnaround time is around 2–3 weeks for completion. I focus on creating a piece of wall art that not only looks like your pet but also captures their special personality and energy. Each dog painting is carefully layered, textured, and infused with life, making it a piece you’ll treasure forever.
Step 6: Enjoy Your Artwork
Finally, the best part - seeing your wonderful pet immortalised in a beautiful piece of animal art. Every time you walk past your custom painting, you’ll be reminded of the love, joy, and companionship your pet brings.
Commissioning a pet portrait with me is simple, personal, and completely tailored to your furry friend.
